Patchwork Literary Salon brings together authors across genres and stages in their careers to create a colorful tapestry of Brooklyn’s writing community. Curated and hosted by Nadine Santoro, this monthly reading series features brief readings, lively conversation, drink specials, and an opportunity to mingle and connect with fellow writers and readers!
This December, we're winding down the year with a special edition of Patchwork to jump-start your creative process as we head into 2026. Join us for festive winter drinks, cookies, a book swap, and an hour of creative time (with prompts to guide you, or bring your own project!).
DATE: Wednesday, December 10
TIME: 7:00pm doors; 7:30 start
LOCATION: SISTERS, 900 Fulton St., Brooklyn, NY 11238
FREE! Your RSVP is appreciated to help us gauge venue capacity.
Our series bookseller is Hive Mind Books, and a portion of book sale proceeds from each event benefit the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund.
🪡 WHAT TO EXPECT 🪡
BOOK SWAP: We all have too many books at home—ones we've been meaning to read for years but never do, ones we loved but dont have space for on our shelves, ones that came highly recommended but just weren't for us. Bring a book or three for the table, and find your next read from other writers' shelves (and maybe even snag the perfect holiday gift for a friend while you're at it). All genres welcome: new or old, galley or finished copy.
WRITE (OR CRAFT) TOGETHER: It can be hard to make time for your art in the rush of the holiday season. It's easier when you're in a room of people who are committed to doing the same. From 7:30-8:30pm, we'll enjoy each others' quiet company and work on our creative projects. Write, revise, draw, knit, or just dig into your next read. Don't have a project in process, or trying to figure out what creativity looks like to you? No worries! Your host will be providing prompts throughout the hour to help you explore your creative roots and plant seeds for the new year.
CREATIVE PROMPTS: Whatever your craft—writing, photography, music, painting, dance, cooking, crochet—the prompts provided throughout the hour will guide you towards understanding your creative roots, identifying how creative practice fits into your life right now, and dreaming up actionable ways to center creativity more deeply in your day-to-day. Drawing from the wisdom of Julia Cameron, Priya Parker, Jenny Odell, Anne Lamot, and Casper ter Kuile, among others!
SNACKS AND DRINKS: Fuel this creative time with wintery cocktail and mocktail specials from the lovely people behind the bar at Sisters, the restaurant's full menu available for purchase, and free cookies!
